What is a WMS?
A WMS (Warehouse Management System) is software dedicated to the physical management of the warehouse. It can be integrated into the ERP or run alongside it through an interface.
In Synoptic ERP, the WMS is a native module that refines inventory management down to pallet level: pallet-level stock and reservations, transfer tasks, picking, order preparation and detailed inventory counts.
What is the difference between management by lot and location and a WMS?
Synoptic ERP’s inventory management tracks your items by location, by lot or by location/lot combination. The WMS goes further: it details the contents of each pallet, shows where it is and controls every movement.
Reservations become more precise, and inventory counts go down to pallet level.
Does Synoptic ERP offer a native WMS, or do you need an external system?
Synoptic ERP includes a native WMS module for warehouse management. For companies that already have a third-party WMS or have very specific logistics needs, an interface with an external system remains possible, for example with Modula WMS or Hardis WMS: see our APIs and integrations.
